The idea behind the business was to create a River Cruising specialist completely independent of any major supplier. Not many agents can say that these days. We have the ability to select your perfect cruise from the vast choice of operators out there and have spent the time researching our product inside out, so you don't have to. Can all agents say this?

I've worked for and created travel, creative and leisure businesses, big and small, I've created my River Cruise business so that I can bring together all the things I like about the travel industry, customer service and marketing and none of the things I don't. It's a fairly unique business - my husband, Simeon, is an IT expert, who used to work for an FTSE100 company and a general process guru - which feeds on the ideas and experiences of "the team" to ensure we're always one step ahead of the High Street.

I have been involved in the travel industry for well over 15 years. I even remember a time when there were more than two 'big' tour operators and there was no such thing as Easyjet or Ryanair! So, I've experienced a lot and am seriously well travelled, too.

We can sell all the products offered by over 200 tour operators, 300 airlines and over 100,000 hotels and villas around the world. We have contracts with all the major tour operators like Thomson and Thomas Cook as well as more specialist operators such as Cadogan, Red Sea Holidays, Elegant Resorts and many, many more.

So, we're just another travel agent then, right? Wrong. We're much more than that. Unlike the vast majority of the High Street travel agencies, which are owned by the Thomson or Thomas Cook groups, we're completely independent and not restricted in what we sell. Whatever you want to do, wherever you want to do it we can help.

As part of The Global Travel Group we also have access to our own direct contracts that are often cheaper than the packages you find in brochures. We always look at options for you and give you the opportunity to save money wherever possible, without lowering your standards. Financial Security

Being part of The Global Travel Group has other advantages too. Every package we sell is ATOL protected for your security and, in these uncertain times, this should be a major source of comfort for travellers. The Government administered ATOL scheme is designed to take over arrangements and cover costs incurred in the event that an airline or tour operator ceases trading. More information on the ATOL scheme is available on the Civil Aviation Authority website www.atol.org.uk.

Furthermore, all money paid to us is immediately placed in the Global Travel Group Trust Account and covered by a unique Customer Protection Guarantee Scheme equivalent to an ABTA bond. This means that both your money and your holiday are perfectly secure.
