Day 1 - UK to Bucharest

Fly to Bucharest and spend your first night at the locally rated 5-star Sheraton Bucharest Hotel (4Q), with dinner included.

Day 2 - Bucharest to Giurgiu

Enjoy an included tour of this lively city, the capital of Romania.

You’ll see the Palace of the Parliament and the Patriarchal Church before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon, a visit to the Village Museum offers further insight into the life of the Romanian villager through the years, then you’ll continue along the Kisseleff boulevard to Revolution Square.

Later you’ll transfer to Giurgiu and embark Filia Rheni II and enjoy a welcome drink and dinner.

You begin your cruise when you set sail later tonight.

Day 2 - Bucharest to Giurgiu

Day 3 - Cruising the Danube

Relax on board as you sail towards Serbia, following the natural border between Romania and Bulgaria.

Day 4 - Iron Gate to Donji Milanovac

Enjoy passing through the scenic Iron Gate gorge, arriving around 3pm at Donji Milanovac, a Serbian town with a special history and a beautiful setting in the midst of the Djerdap National Park.

You may like to join an optional excursion to the Lepenski Vir Mesolithic site, in the Derdap Gorge.

Set sail for Belgrade this evening.

Day 4 -  Iron Gate to Donji Milanovac

Day 5 - Belgrade

Arrive in Belgrade, Serbia’s capital, early this morning. It’s considered the meeting point of Eastern and Western Europe, being at the junction of the Danube and Sava rivers.

Go exploring independently along the waterfront to see its key attractions, including the Kalmegadan Fortress, the cathedral and St Sava Temple, or find out even more by joining an optional tour.

Set sail again later tonight.

Day 5 - Belgrade

Day 6 - Novi Sad

Enjoy the morning in this city where European and Balkan cultures meet, with the Danube forming part of the border.

You can’t miss the Petrovaradin Fortress, which comprises a 16-kilometre network of underground passages with the officers’ residences and government buildings beneath.

There’s the City Museum within the fortress walls where you can find out more. Alternatively, join an optional walking tour which will reveal the old town’s fine 18th and 19th-century architecture.

Set sail after lunch.

Day 6 -  Novi Sad

Day 7 - Mohács to Kalocsa

This morning you arrive in Mohács, an important 19th-century steamboat port and home to some of Hungary’s most exciting folk traditions.

Enjoy the morning here – or maybe join an optional excursion to see local Magyar cowboys in a display of traditional Hungarian horsemanship.

Rejoin your ship later when Filia Rheni II moors briefly in Kalocsa, then sail on into the night.

Day 7 -  Mohács to Kalocsa

Day 8 - Esztergom

Spend the morning in the original capital of Hungary. An optional excursion visits the neo-classical Basilica of Esztergom and the artists’ village of Szentendre.

Continue sailing towards Bratislava this afternoon.

Day 9 - Bratislava

This morning you arrive in Slovakia’s lively capital, with the whole day to explore.

An optional tour reveals the summer residence of the archbishop, the current home of the Slovakian president, and the castle of Bratislava.

You depart this evening.

Day 10 Melk to Weissenkirchen

Arrive in Melk after breakfast where you may like to take an optional excursion to the magnificent baroque Melk Abbey.

Next, you’ll visit the pretty wine village of Weissenkirchen – perhaps stroll to see the old fortified white church that gives the village its name.

Set sail for Vienna later tonight.

Day 11 - Vienna

Arrive in Vienna this morning where an included excursion reveals some of the city’s major landmarks, including the Opera House. You’ll also get to walk along the famous Graben and Kohlmarkt streets, with their mix of historic buildings and upmarket shops, before visiting a typical Viennese coffee house for a hot drink and a slice of the city’s famous Sachertorte.

After dinner this evening you may like to attend an optional concert of music by Mozart and Strauss in one of the city’s famous venues.

Amadeus Royal Exterior

The AMADEUS  Royal is a 110-meter cruise ship was built in 2005 and which was completely renovated in 2015, reemerging with renewed splendor.

Generous suites and cabins are located across three decks, offering accommodation for up to 142 passengers.  The cabins are, for the most part, equipped with French balconies, which offer a fantastic view over the beautiful passing riverscapes.

Your culinary wishes will be attended to by our on-board Panorama-Restaurant, as well as by the Panorama-Bar, located above it, where you can sit back and relax in the lounge. All the on-board amenities are up to the customary high AMADEUS standard, and you can enjoy lounging on the spacious Sun Deck with its Lido Bar, or you can unwind with a good book in the quiet and comfortable AMADEUS Club.
