Arrive in Hurghada on Friday and transfer to your choice of hotel either there or in Makadi Bay. Relax and enjoy the wonders of the Red Sea and your fabulous 5★ accommodation until your cruise starts on Monday.
Transfer to Luxor, the start of your Nile cruise. The transfer is by luxury coach with wifi and takes approximately 5 hrs.
Luxor, is the site of the ancient Egyptian capital, Thebes, and home to many of the most renowned monuments, tombs and temples. It is the starting point for your Nile cruise. On arrival at Luxor Airport, you will transfer by coach to your chosen cruise ship in Luxor by coach. The transfer takes around 30 minutes.
After breakfast visit the East bank of Thebes and the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. At the vast open air museum of Karnak, marvel at the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 columns. In the afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo via Esna lock.

The cruise continues via the impressive sight of Kom Ombo standing sentinel at a bend in the river. Visit this unusual double temple, built in 250BC to honour the crocodile-headed Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus, before sailing on to Aswan.

Make the most of the onboard facilities as you sail to the Aswan area. Alternatively, take time out for one of the optional excursions, such as an early morning trip to Abu Simbel (by air or by bus)* or a day trip to an Aswan Nubian Village national park*. During the evening, there is an optional excursion to the atmospheric Sound and Light show in the Philae Temple.

Spending the morning visiting the island of Agilika and Philae Temple, which was moved to the island between 1972 and 1980 to save it from flooding when the Aswan High Dam was built. After lunch, enjoy a romantic felucca or motor boat ride on the Nile (subject to weather conditions).

Travel to the West Bank of Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of a succession of mighty Pharaohs. Optional visit to Tutankhamun's tomb (please note that the surviving treasures now reside in the Cairo Museum). Other highlights include the imposing Temple of Hatshepsut, the gigantic Colossi of Memnon, which have stood in the Theban necropolis for the last 3400 years, and Medinet Habu, the mortuary temple of Rameses III. Enjoy your last evening in grand style with the optional Sound & Light show at Karnak.

After breakfast, relax on board ship before transferring back to Hurghada or Makadi Bay by coach. As before, the transfer will take around 5 hours. The five decks of the Grand Rose are home to 60 exterior cabins and 2 suites, all with panoramic windows. Tastefully furnished, they offer two single or double sized beds, a cosy lounge area, bath with shower, WC, air conditioning, hairdryer, satellite TV and safe. Use of the telephone and mini-bar in room is payable locally.
Standard cabins and suites each accommodate a maximum of 2 adults. Cabin pricing is based on lower deck cabins. Middle and upper deck cabins feature larger windows and are available for a small supplement, as are the two suites. Please ask for details.
