In the afternoon you may wish to take an excursion to Weltenburg Monastery. Returning to the ship, there will be a rousing Bavarian Evening on board tonight.

Arrive into Passau this morning, where the rivers Inn and Ilz join the Danube, and enjoy an optional walking tour of the ancient city centre. During the tour, your knowledgeable guide will point out many buildings that bear witness to Passau's historical importance as the Three River City. Alternatively you can join an optional excursion to Salzburg and the scenic Salzkammergut lakes and mountains region, starting in Passau and ending in Linz. The ship will make her way to Linz where you can participate in an optional city walk before dinner.

The ship arrives into Melk early today and from here you can take an optional tour of the scenic Wachau region, incorporating a visit to the impressive Benedictine Abbey at Melk and a wine tasting session. This afternoon's optional excursion brings you to the Imperial Festival Palace, Castle Hof, a magnificent Baroque complex, built in the early 18th Century. Return to the ship and prepare for the Captain's Gala Dinner, followed by a show performed by the crew.

Arrive into the Hungarian capital, Budapest, this morning. Join an optional sightseeing tour which leads you to historic Buda Castle for a splendid view of the twin cities of Buda and Pest, spread over both banks of the river. Your tour also takes you to the 500-year-old Matthias Church, St. Stephen's Basilica, the Fishermen's Bastion and the Royal Palace.
This afternoon choose from two optional excursions: Take a trip out to the Gödöllö Palace, then see a display of the horsemanship for which the Puszta region is famous. Alternatively, join a tour to the small artists' settlement of Szentendre, in the picturesque Danube Bend region. This evening enjoy a scenic evening cruise along the Danube, Budapest by Night, with a Hungarian folklore group to entertain you.

The monastery, founded by Irish or Scottish monks around 620 AD, is the oldest in Bavaria. Meanwhile the ship sails towards Regensburg, where you can re-board at lunch time.
