Enjoy a day of leisure onboard your floating hotel as your ship slowly winds its way up the enchanting Danube and meanders through a series of locks.

Vienna is a treasure trove of secular and sacred gems and the stately Ringstrasse - the broad thoroughfare surrounded by the many imperial buildings and monuments that give Vienna its wedding cake appearance. Your city tour will take you along the Ringstrasse to visit the National Library and the Baroque State Hall of the Austrian National Library, said to be the most beautiful library room in the world. Or choose to experience 'Vienna as the Viennese Do' with an intimate walking tour of Vienna's historic centre, travelling by foot and subway with the locals.

Day 5: Dürnstein, cruising the Wachau Valley, Melk

Included excursion: Dürnstein village walk with exclusive spiced wine tasting
Saffron workshop and village stroll or exclusive guided 'Go Active' Wachau Valley bicycle ride or Melk Abbey with library visit

Awake in the tiny baroque village of Dürnstein seemingly lost in time and visit Domäne Wachau for a tasting of the famous Wachau Valley Rieslings. Dürnstein is perhaps most famous for being where Richard the Lionheart was held captive in 1192 and 1193 until he paid a heavy ransom in silver. Take time to wander through the village with its old burgher houses and 16th-18th century townhouses, ending at the exquisite baroque cathedral. Depart Dürnstein and cruise through the heart of the fairytale, vineyard-rich Wachau Valley. This fascinating stretch of landscape along the Danube has recently been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You arrive in Melk, famous for its Benedictine Abbey high atop the granite cliffs of the Danube.

Alternatively enjoy a culinary experience, a workshop on how to distinguish Saffron qualities, what it tastes like, how to cook with Saffron and tasting of samples.

Day 6: Linz (Salzburg Luxury Motorcoach Transfer or Linz)

Alternative excursions: Tour of Linz and the countryside

Today you will travel overland to Salzburg, 'the city of salt' and most famously known as the setting for 'The Sound of Music'. Your city tour will take in the Old Town on foot, see the Mirabellgarten and visit the 15th century Cathedral before returning to the ship. Alternatively enjoy a walking tour of Linz followed by a visit to a local farm where you will taste cider produced from pears, called 'Most', named after the region. See a typical Upper Austrian Farm, learn about crops and farm life and try the favourite beverage of the area accompanied by a typical snack of farm fresh local products.

Day 7: Passau

Included excursion: Walking tour and St. Stephan's Organ Concert
Alternative excursion: 'Go Active' bicycle ride along the Inn River

Your guided walk starts in the medieval section of Passau and then takes you past St. Stephan's Cathedral - home to Europe's largest pipe organ. Later, you return to St. Stephan's for an organ concert. Captain's Farewell Reception and Gala Dinner this evening.
