Châteauneuf-du-Pape lies in the heart of the Vaucluse region, most famous for the wine it produces from the local vineyards. The medieval village situated on the side of a hill guarded by the ruins of the ancient chateau towering above. From the Chateau hill you will have outstanding views in all directions, mostly of the local vineyards and down to the Rhone river. The village itself is worth a visit to explore the pretty lane hidden squares and ruined castle.
