The Black Forest

Breisach is the stopping point on most cruise itineraries and is the medieval gateway to the Black Forest. You will be taken by coach to visit some of the villages which seem untouched by time and the region’s famous cuckoo clocks being crafted by local artisans. Perhaps a slice of the “Schwarzwalder Kirshtorte” will be offered at one of your wayside stops.

The medieval bridges of Strasbourg can be viewed in the way they have been over centuries and that is from a canal cruise. The historic capital of the Alsace region is scattered with medieval watchtowers and also includes the beautiful ‘Petite France’ area that brings to mind the scenery of a fairytale.

Traffic free Droselgasse in Rudesheim is the perfect place to sample the local vintners speciality, the Rudesheim reisling.
