Day 2 - Regensburg
Begin your cruise with a visit to Regensburg. This UNESCO site boasts architecture from many centuries, reflective of its varied history throughout the centuries. The stone bridge, built in 1135 –1146, the Church of St. James, and the Schloss of Thurn and Taxis are a few of the highlights of this beautiful city. Back onboard this evening, experience a Bavarian evening with lively traditional music and a dinner of local specialities.

Day 3 - Passau & Linz
A short stop this morning shows you the three rivers city of Passau, lying at the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz. At St. Stephen’s Cathedral, see an organ with 17,774 pipes and 233 registers, the second largest in the world. The imposing fortress Veste Oberhaus is located high on the hill overlooking the town and the three rivers. This afternoon, the vessel stops in the third largest city in Austria – Linz.

Passau walking tour Full-day excursion to Salzburg including Salzkammergut and lunch Linz walking tour The main street and square are marked with unique churches, concert venues, and plenty of artists who come to the city to thrive. Time permitting, sample one of the famous Linzer Tortes before returning to the vessel.
Day 4 - Emmersdorf, Weissenkirchen & Vienna
This morning presents an opportunity to visit the famous Benedictine Abbey of Melk which stands over the Danube, or continue with the vessel to the town of Weissenkirchen. Here, sample some of the region’s famous Riesling wines or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets. This morning’s optional excursion will rejoin the ship in the early afternoon before departing for Vienna. Dinner is served with dishes of regional specialties. The ship arrives late evening in Vienna and remains overnight.

Day 5 - Vienna
There is much to see in Imperial Vienna: its lavish palaces, the Museums Quarter displaying works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists, the impressive buildings along the Ringstrasse, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the famous Vienna State Opera among many others. This afternoon perhaps venture to Schönbrunn Palace, the sumptuous summer palace and gardens of Empress Maria Theresa and the Habsburg empire. Cap off your Vienna experience with an optional excursion “Sound of Vienna” concert. Listen to the “Alt Wien” orchestra play popular pieces from Vienna’s classical era. The vessel remains in Vienna.

Day 6 - Bratislava
During the night, your AMADEUS ship will travel downriver towards Bratislava, arriving in the Slovakian capital at breakfast time. In the morning, you can go exploring on your own or as part of a guided city tour. In the afternoon, it is worth visiting the Imperial Festschloss Hof, which was once the country residence of Empress Maria Theresia and which is situated in Austria, not far from the Slovakian border. After the exclusive Captain’s Gala Dinner, the ship will set sail for Hungary.

Day 7 - Esztergom & Budapest
Relax onboard as the vessel makes its way to Budapest, Hungary. For those interested in exploring the Hungarian countryside, spend the morning visiting Esztergom and its Basilica dedicated to Saint Mary, and Szentendre, known for its art galleries and museums. After lunch, explore the beautiful Hungarian capital of Budapest. Uniquely straddling the Danube river, the Buda side with its Fisherman’s Bastion and the Pest side with its famous Hungarian Parliament building, are connected by the beautiful Chain Bridge. An evening cruise onboard your Amadeus vessel along the illuminated skyline, accompanied by a folklore show of music and dance, is a perfect ending to your visit.

Amadeus Star, launched in 2019, offers a total of 70 spacious deluxe cabins and 12 AMADEUS Suites catering for a maximum of 164 guests. A lovely new feature of this vessel is the glass enclosed Amadeus club lounge and wine bar at the rear of the ship.

Launched in 2023, the Amadeus Riva is designed to offer our guests an effortless combination of the vibrant energy of a river cruise day with an increasingly calm and intimate ship experience. The new ship offers 71 spacious deluxe cabins and 10 Amadeus suites in total. As on all ships built since 2011, the Amadeus Riva cabins on the Mozart and Strauss decks also feature lowerable panoramic windows along the entire cabin width.
