Day 2 - Emmersdorf, Dürnstein & Vienna
On the banks of Emmersdorf, you’ll feel the touch of history and mystery: The Benedictine Abbey of Melk rises before you. Our tour opens the doors to Austria’s largest Baroque monastery. Afterward, nature unfolds its wealth — on a panoramic passage through the UNESCO-protected cultural landscape of the Wachau. Vineyards, castle ruins, charming towns — and in the middle of it all, you. After lunch, we take a closer look at the town of Dürnstein. Along the way, you’ll sample delicious wines.
In the evening, things get especially lively: A waltz dance class on board will teach you how to glide elegantly in 3/4 time — the perfect way to prepare for your arrival in Vienna.

Day 3 - Vienna
There is much to see and do in this Imperial capital city. A panoramic tour rewards you with views of the “Ringstrasse“ with its pompous buildings, the famous State Opera House, the Museum Quarter with historic and contemporary architecture and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. In the afternoon, continue your exploration or venture with the group to Schönbrunn Palace, the sumptuous former summer palace and gardens of Empress Maria Theresia. Be sure to explore the elegant Gloriette, a stunning hilltop pavilion offering panoramic views of the palace and Vienna‘s skyline. Alternatively, experience beautiful nature and active discovery on our guided bike tour through Vienna.
After a full day of exploration, enjoy dinner on board as the vessel departs.

Day 4 - Budapest
A city built on cloud nine. That’s how it seems, as one quickly falls in love with the “Queen of the Danube.” In the morning, we dock and, after lunch, take you on a city tour through Buda and Pest. The Great Market Hall, Parliament Building, State Opera, Heroes’ Square, Matthias Church, and Fishermen’s Bastion — enjoy it all. And in the evening, when Budapest lights up, we start our illuminated city tour, spiced up with a fiery folklore show on board.

Day 5 - Budapest & Esztergom
Is your anticipation already running high? Today, we head to the Puszta. In the seemingly endless plains, your longing for freedom grows beyond measure. The skilled horse riders will show you their talents in a thrilling equestrian show. Or do you still crave more of Budapest? Then you should experience the culinary side of Hungary’s capital. In the afternoon, you can visit the picturesque artists’ village of Szentendre and the Visegrád Castle ruins. From here, the view of the Danube Bend is unforgettable. This is also true for the Basilica in Esztergom, where your ship has already docked. Just a few steps, and welcome back.

Day 6 - Bratislava & Hainburg
Wake up in the capital city of Bratislava, Slovakia. Join the walking tour and see the home of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the old city walls, the summer residence of the archbishop and more. After lunch, the afternoon excursion to a small Carpathian winery offers many culinary delights. Rejoin the vessel in Hainburg.

Day 7 - Linz
After lunch, arrive in Linz, the third largest city in Austria. See the Mozarthaus and the Renaissance villas here, along with the main street and square, which boast unique churches and concert venues. For nature lovers, our active hiking tour around the Danube city offers magnificent views of Linz and the surrounding countryside. Later today, join us in the Panorama-Restaurant for an evening of glamour, great company, incredible food and wines at the Gala Dinner.

Day 8 - Passau

The AMADEUS Brilliant is a 110-meter cruise ship built in 2011 and offers you premium travel comfort. Generous suites and cabins are located across three decks, offering accommodation for up to 150 passengers. The cabins are, for the most part, equipped with French balconies, which offer a fantastic view over the beautiful passing riverscapes.
Your culinary wishes will be attended to by our on-board Panorama-Restaurant, as well as by the Panorama-Bar, located above it, where you can sit back and relax in the lounge. All the on-board amenities are up to the customary high AMADEUS standard, and you can enjoy lounging on the spacious Sun Deck with its Lido Bar, or you can unwind with a good book in the quiet and comfortable AMADEUS Club. Regardless of what you choose to do, you will feel at home on board with us! The Amadeus Queen, the 15th river cruise ship of the Austrian ship operator, will tour the Danube, Rhine and Main rivers as well as Dutch and Belgian waterways from spring 2018. Similar to its prominent predecessors, this ship will also continue the company’s orientation to high quality river cruises in Europe.
This new vessel follows the award-winning model of the Amadeus Silver ships but offers even further innovative developments. The popular concept of spaciousness has been maintained. This includes not only generous public areas but also spacious cabins: 12 large suites impress with an outdoor balcony and a cozy reading corner whilst the 69 standard cabins mainly have panoramic window fronts which can be automatically lowered and luxurious bathrooms. A new on-board highlight is the indoor pool, the roof of which can be opened in fine weather. In the evenings, this area may also be used for informative talks, functions and cinema showings.
