Rustic treasures await on the passage of the Douro River. Travelling from Porto on an 8-day roundtrip, discover fine wine, delicious home-grown fare, and historic locales, and grow accustomed to the leisurely pace of life on the banks of this timeless waterway. Sailing east against the current of the Douro, arrive in Vega de Terron, where you can tour the Baroque town of Lamego or visit Mateus Palace, world-renowned for its delicious rosé wines. Passing the Vinhateiro wine region, spend the day in the historic city of Salamanca, marvelling at the World Heritage-listed sites of Plaza Mayor and Universidad de Salamanca. Then it’s on to Pinhão, where you can visit the award-winning Coa Valley Museum or join an exhilarating canoeing excursion on the Sabor River. Next is Provesende, where you’ll experience the Portugal of yesteryear with a guided tour through the quaint village, accompanied by a group of locals proud to introduce their way of life to Scenic guests. In the evening, you’re invited to a special Scenic Enrich encounter in São Francisco Church, where you’ll savour a private concert amid truly wondrous surroundings. Your final day brings you back to Porto, where you’ll visit the Palacio da Bolsa, a World Heritage-listed site. There’s also time to indulge in a tasting at the fairy-tale Quinta Aveleda, a world-renowned producer of Portuguese sparkling wine.

Prices are per person, based on two people sharing a twin cabin with a limited number of single cabins available on all decks, at the relevant supplement. The price includes full board from dinner on your day of arrival until breakfast on your final day; if you choose to travel with us on any of the full day excursions by coach, a packed lunch will be provided. Anyone choosing to stay on the ship may of course have lunch in the restaurant; morning/afternoon tea and coffee; all visits and excursions as mentioned in the brochure, airport transfers, coach travel as mentioned, travel to and from port of embarkation and the services of a Scenic Travel Tour Manager.

Day 2 - Porto & Regua
Today, enjoy on board activities such as traditional tile painting, or simply relax as your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship meanders its way to Regua where you have the chance to explore the Douro Museum at your leisure. Learn about the culture, history and identity of the people living in this wine-growing region of the Douro Valley.
Day 3 - Regua & Vega de Terron
Freechoice Tour the elegant town of Lamego, with its many fine Baroque structures such as the Shrine of our Lady of Remedies and the Lamego museum, both of which you will get the opportunity to visit. Alternatively enjoy a guided visit of the iconic Mateus Palace, which graces the labels of its famous rosé.
Enjoy a full afternoon cruising the World Heritage-listed Vinhateiro wine region as you continue towards Spain.
Day 4 - Salamanca
Take your time absorbing the sheer architectural splendour of Salamanca, a city know for its ornate sandstone architecture and for the Universidad de Salamanca, said to be the third oldest university in Europe. During your time in Spain, its only right we treat yo to a delicious lunch, which will be accompanied by a Flamenco dance performance.
Of course, you will also enjoy some free time to explore this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city at your leisure. The city’s historic centre has important Romanesque. Gothic, Moorish, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. The Plaza Mayor, with its galleries and arcades, is particularly impressive.
Day 5 - Pocinho & Pinhão
Take a leisurely cruise this morning to nearby Pocinho.
Freechoice Visit the award winning Côa Valley Museum or, if you’re a little more adventurous at heart, take a canoeing excursion on the Sabor River. Alternatively, join the ‘Tastes of the Côa Valley’ excursion and sample some of the regions produce such as jams, marmalades and sugared almonds.
Day 6 - Pinhão & Porto
Visit the remarkable village of Provesende, showcasing the Portugal of yesteryear. Wander the atmospheric streets of this quaint village with the locals as they proudly introduce you to their way of life – an experience exclusive for Scenic guests.
Enrich The beauty of São Francisco Church is sure to impress. The facade is a mixture of Gothic and Baroque architecture, while the interior glows with intricate wood carvings covered in gold. Witness a spectacular private concert in these wondrous surroundings.
Day 7 - Porto
Today, discover the historic treasures of Porto, including a visit to Palacio da Bolsa, a neoclassical-style building that started construction in 1842 and took over 65 years to complete.
Freechoice Tour Guimarães, the seat of the first King of Portugal, including the impressive Ducal Palace, or enjoy a tasting in the fairytale environs of Quinta da Aveleda.
Day 8 Porto - Return Home
After breakfast, transfer to Porto airport for your return journey home. Fly to one of up to 8 UK regional airports or direct to London Gatwick.

48 elegantly appointed Suites and standard suites range in size from 172-420 ft². Most accommodations have a open air balcony. Try one of the 2 Royal One-Bedroom Suites, situated at the rear of the ship at 420 sq ft² in size. An outdoor balcony, complete with open-air system, allows you to enjoy the views of your surroundings whatever the weather so you can enjoy the ever-changing scenery however you wish. All Suites feature added enhancements such as a sitting area with two chairs. All suites include amenities such ensuite bathroom with shower, Infotainment, free high-speed Internet access, climate-controlled air conditioning; and an in-room safe, fridge and complimentary bottled water replenished daily.
