A cruise on the Seine through the historic heart of Normandy is perhaps the most romantic of river cruises. Titan Travel VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London St Pancras and a scheduled Eurostar service to Paris. On arrival, we transfer to embark Amadeus Diamond (4T), with time to settle into our cabins and enjoy a welcome cocktail before dinner this evening.
Day 2 - Conflans
From Conflans, we take an excursion to Auvers-sur-Oise, to follow in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh and see the subjects that inspired many of his paintings.
Day 3 - Rouen
Rouen is a timeless city and on our included walking tour, we visit the stunning 12th century cathedral, subject of numerous Monet paintings, and the old market square where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. This afternoon, take an optional tour of The Abbey Road – a glorious reminder of Normandy’s medieval past.
Day 4 - Le Harve
Take an included walking tour on the cliff paths of Étretat for beautiful views of alabaster cliffs and natural arches. This afternoon, we have an optional visit to Honfleur, a jewel on Normandy’s coast immortalised by many impressionist painters.
Day 5 - Caudebec en Caux
Take an optional excursion for a fascinating journey through Normandy, taking in the Bayeux Tapestry, Caen – the city of William the Conqueror, Pont-l’Évêque, Trouville and Deauville
Day 6 - Les Andelys/Vernon/Poissy
Arrive early at Les Andelys, where an optional excursion will take you to the impressive ruined castle of Château Gaillard, built by Richard the Lionheart. This excursion also includes Giverny, the lovingly restored house where Claude Monet lived. The Water Garden, shaded by weeping willows, with its famous Japanese Bridge, inspired the paintings of the water lily. We sail onwards this afternoon with onboard activities available.
Day 7 - Paris
After breakfast, join an included coach excursion of all the celebrated sights of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées. Later, choose between an excursion to Versailles for a guided tour of Louis XIV’s Palace of Versailles, or a walking tour of Paris’ Montmartre.
Day 8 - Paris
After breakfast, we disembark and transfer to the station for a return Eurostar service to London St Pancras. Upon arrival your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
The Amadeus Diamond is a 110-metre river cruise ship, fully refurbished for the 2019 season, offering premium travel comfort. Generous suites and cabins are located across three decks, accommodating up to 146 passengers.
Your culinary wishes will be attended to by our on-board Panorama-Restaurant, as well as by the Panorama-Bar, located above it, where you can sit back and relax in the lounge. All the on-board amenities are up to the customary high Amadeus standard, and you can enjoy lounging on the spacious Sun Deck with its Lido Bar, or you can unwind with a good book in the quiet and comfortable Amadeus Club. Regardless of what you choose to do, you will feel at home on board with us! Amadeus operate bilingual cruises (English/German), meaning that all announcements, menus and daily programme, etc. will be provided in both languages. All excursions are operated with English speaking guides.
