From Prague to vibrant Budapest, this Danube river cruise holiday takes you to four countries. The scenic beauty along the way as you cruise past quaint towns can be experienced right from your stateroom or while sipping wine atop the Sky Deck of your ship. Enjoy two nights in Prague, before travelling to Nuremberg, to board your river cruise vessel docked on the Main Danube Canal. Over the next 8 days you will cruise the Danube to Budapest, through four countries, and visit and visit this thousand-year-old city with a Local Guide. Next, reach Regensburg, the only German city not bombed during WWII. Lovers of architecture will enjoy the many listed buildings of historic interest, and Porta Pretoria, gates to an ancient Roman fort built in 179 CE. Passau, known for its narrow, winding streets, offers the magnificent Italian Baroque St. Stephen’s Cathedral. In Melk, you will visit Austria’s majestic Benedictine Abbey, one of Europe’s largest monasteries, which sits high on a bluff. Take in the breathtaking views before continuing through the picturesque Wachau Valley to the romantic sounds of Vienna, the “City of Music.” Your European river cruise holiday ends in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, with guided sightseeing and free time to explore this vibrant city on your own.

Day 4 - Passau to Linz

Day 5 - Vienna to Melk

Your cruise ends with breakfast this morning.
The larger of the Avalon Suite Ships, these vessels accommodate 166 passengers and features two full decks of Panorama Suites. With wall-to-wall panoramic windows that transform into a unique open-air balcony, the suites are the ideal setting for stretching out and relaxing or even throwing a private cocktail party for up to six adults in the spacious sitting area. 83 elegantly appointed staterooms and suites range in size from 172-300 ft². On the middle and upper decks, Panorama Suites are 200 ft² and feature Avalon’s trademark extra-wide, 11ft, French balconies with the bed angled towards the windows to really soak up those views. Royal Suites on the upper deck are even larger at 300 ft² and have an extended seating area with a sofa, armchairs and a table a larger bathrooms and separate WC.
