Experience the full length of the Danube, the most beautiful river of Europe. You will cruise along 4,000 river kilometers, visit eight countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania), and five world renowned capital cities (Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Belgrade and Bucharest). The trip through the “Iron Gates”, the imposing gorge where the Danube breaks through the Carpathian Mountains, is a particular highlight of this scenic cruise. The journey to kilometer zero, the estuary of the Danube that meets the Black Sea, and visit UNESCO protected site of the Danube Delta with its vast wildlife and natural beauty is an unforgettable experiences. The Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve has the third largest biodiversity in the world with over 5,500 flora and fauna species, exceeded only by the Great Barrier Reef and the Galapagos Archipelago. Very few river cruises go all the way down to the Danube Delta, the ships won’t fit. Lüftner (Amadeus) have been doing this route for over 40 years, during the dark communist days and are the experts. The wildlife in the Delta is a unique experience that you will never forget. Austrian family hospitality makes cruising a relaxed affair. Excursions can be added ad hoc to allow more independent exploration and free time for you. A European facing, luxury cruising experience with English the language onboard. One of our favourite river cruise lines and the one all the others have learnt from.
