Travel + Leisure magazine has unveiled its annual World’s Best Awards for 2016, with many of the winners of the Best River Cruise Lines category being familiar names to Global River Cruising.
River cruises are becoming increasingly popular as travellers want to discover the world’s smaller waterways. One of the most popular drawing points is that river cruises offer a chance to explore a part of the world in much more detail.
The ships are also appealing, though they might not come with waterslides like the cruise liners on the ocean, there is premium dining, cosy cabin bedrooms and balconies to sit at and watch the riverside settlements pass by.
Travel + Leisure’s awards are based on the knowledge of travellers from all across the globe, sharing their thoughts on the best resorts, cities, islands, airlines and more, so the winners are chosen based on real experiences.
The top honours this year went to Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, which stood out for the style. From the outside to within, the ships have a special charm and elegance, and all its new ships keep up the standard, wherever they are in the world. On shore stops are also impressive with Uniworld, and they have created some great personalised journeys for river cruises in Europe.
Second place on Travel + Leisure’s Best River Cruise Line was Tauck, third Viking River Cruises, fourth Grand Circle Cruise Line and finishing the top five, AmaWaterways.
With Global River Cruising, you can choose from a number of different destinations as well as different itineraries to suit your personal travelling preferences and needs, and Uniworld river cruises are certainly one of the best.
